Greetings…

I have placed great emphasis on crafting Shiraz from the Adelaide Hills. The grape sources are from Kuitpo Forest and Upper Kangarilla, both areas showing rapid recognition as quality producing sub-regions.

The higher altitude and cooler growing conditions of this ancient range manifest the desirable qualities to produce this fine style of wine. The wine is made on the top of Old Willunga Hill, overlooking the majestic patchwork of McLaren Vale’s vineyards.

2003 Shiraz

The 2003 King of the Hill Shiraz was hand picked and hand sorted at 14 Baume prior to crushing. Medium purple in colour, the wine shows elegance and great complexity.

The bouquet is clean and lifting, with an explosion of forest berries, white pepper and plenty of spice. The palate is fine, long and lingering, with a mix of the berry fruits of the bouquet, slight liquorice and toasty oak characters inherited from barrel maturation.

This medium-bodied wine gains weight and richness as it aerates.
